How do I send my Fitbit activities to Hikingbook?

Connect Fitbit Account

Link your Fitbit account in Hikingbook to upload your past Fitbit activities with GPS data (optional) and automatically upload new activities. Here's how:

  1. Make sure your app is updated to: iOS app v17.3 or later, Android app v16.2 or later.
  2. Open Hikingbook app, go to "Me" tab, tap the gear icon in the top right to enter "Settings."
  3. Tap "Connect device," select Fitbit, then tap "Connect."
  4. On the Fitbit login screen, sign in with your Google account or existing Fitbit account.
  5. On the authorization page, tap "Allow all" (Location and GPS, Activities and Exercise), then tap "Allow."
  6. When you see the success page, tap "Done" or "X" to close page.

Back in the app, you can choose to sync "only future Fitbit activities" or "all activities from Fitbit"

Note: Activities synced from Garmin to Hikingbook will be uploaded to Hikingbook servers with privacy settings based on your membership status: Free members' activities are set to "Public" by default; Pro members' activities are set to "Link" by default. To modify default privacy settings, go to "Settings" > "Uploaded activity privacy."

After setup, you should see a checkmark next to Fitbit under "Connect device or service."

What if Fitbit activities aren't uploading to Hikingbook?

Syncing from Fitbit may be delayed, especially during peak upload times. If activities haven't uploaded after 24 hours, contact support: support@hikingbook.net

Disconnect from Fitbit

To disconnect your Fitbit account, tap Fitbit under "Connect device or service" and confirm disconnection.
